What are Macros?
Macros, short for macronutrients, are the 3 major nutrients your body gets from your diet: protein, carbohydrates and fat. The amount of macros needed varies from person to person depending on many factors including gender, body weight, activity level and health/fitness goals. Counting macros allows you to track your intake, encourages a healthier lifestyle with better food awareness and allows for a more flexible eating pattern than counting calories or other more restrictive weight loss strategies. Counting macros in a "cut" allows for weight loss, while counting for "maintenance" focuses on maintaining your weight while still building muslce and improving overall health.
